A downloadable Demo for Windows

A short, liminal experience where you have the chance to immortalize that what is otherwise destined to become a lost memory.

This project was the primary element of a sensory experience experiment. In this experiment, people would play this game on a very large screen, standing very close, while barefoot on carpet. The players would be provided with noise-canceling headphones as well. While playing, the smell of old coffee would be sprayed in the room. The goal of this experiment was to test if the level of immersion of the experience could be elevated by adding additional sensory elements. It was concluded that, given the players were in a suitable state of mind, the level of immersion was noticeably greater.

That said, I highly recommend any player of this game to try and immerse themselves into the game as much as possible to get the best experience. Things like turning off the lights, wearing noise-canceling headphones, turning off/closing any possible distractors (browser tabs, phone, app-notifications, etc).

Additionally, I'd like to add that in my research about liminal spaces, I discovered they're highly personal and context-dependent. It's possible that to one person the effect of a liminal space is very profound, while to someone else it will feel like nothing at all. In other words, go in with an open mind, but don't expect the most, or you might end up disappointed.

This project was initially not intended to be released to the public. After it was finished, I decided to jump back in and fix the majority of the faults it had, so I could then share it online for people to give a try.

This is only a small demo of a project that will likely not be expanded upon. There's not much to this game, so please manage your expectations.
